2. Templates allow selection of all possible items for a particular job type . .

The benefit comes from the "Unit of Measure" associated with each item.  When the square foot                                                                                                                        

 calculator is used, the "total area" is multiplied by the preset "$ per" value to calculate to "Amount"

 (all preset values can be overwritten, as needed). A "per foot" quantity is entered for items with a "Unit 

 of Measure" = "per ft." and a value is calculated just as items with no "Unit of Measure" get calculated 

 based on the quantity entered.  Other benefits are the inclusion of labor phrases, such as "Installation of"

so that when the final proposal/estimate is composed, the descriptions will read correctly.
